This body of work emerged during the global lockdown; a period of forced stillness that initiated a return to large-scale painting.
After completing my Master’s degree in jewelry design and working within the technical, structured environment of the craft, the canvas became a necessary space for the deconstruction of form. Working with acrylics allows for an immediate, physical engagement with the material. Space and movement are negotiated through rapid layering and spontaneous transitions, without the filter of rigid rules.
The resulting abstract works stand on their own; a raw, organic exploration of color and scale.
